Rangers have been told that they have no chance of signing Jacob Murphy from Newcastle United, according to Football Insider. It has been reported that Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Stoke City all have made approaches to secure the services of the winger on a season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window.
However, according to the report, Murphy has impressed Newcastle manager Steve Bruce and has won over him, with the former Aston Villa and Hull City boss deciding that he will keep the 25-year-old in his first-team squad for the 2020-21 campaign. Rangers, as well as Forest, Wednesday and Stoke, have been told that the winger will not leave this summer.
Murphy has been on the books of Newcastle since 2017, but the 25-year-old has failed to make a massive impact in the first team, and has been out on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Wednesday in recent years.
