(GSM) – Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka is understood to have resumed contract talks with the London giants with a two-year prolonged stay at Stamford Bridge being negotiated.
Negotiations had reportedly stalled in January as both parties were struggling to agree to a new deal.
With just over a year to run on his contract, the Frenchman had previously implied he would be happy to pledge his long-term future to the West London club.
But it was feared that with discussion hitting an impasse at the start of the year, the nomadic striker could decide to move on in search of a new club.
However, Sky Sports understands Chelsea have now reopened talks with the former Arsenal and Liverpool ace as they look to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
Anelka has found himself as a regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season with the 30-year-old scoring 13 goals so far this term.
