Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng has completed a switch to Bayern Munich, the German clubs have confirmed on their official website.
Following the lengthy negotiations that threatened to break down over a transfer fee, Bayern Munich have finally agreed to pay Manchester City €13.5 million.
The Germany international is expected to arrive in Munich in the next few days and complete a medical before signing a long-term deal with the Bavarians.
The Bundesliga giants have confirmed the transfer on their official website.
“On Thursday the Bayern Munich board has agreed the transfer of Jerome Boateng with the Manchester City board,” the statement read.
“Boateng, who is still with Manchester City in Los Angeles, is expected in Munich in the next few days for the medical examination.”
Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was delighted with the latest capture.
“There were intense negotiations and a long way until we could lead this transfer to satisfactory conclusion.
”With Jerome Boateng we got our preferred candidate for the central defender of FC Bayern.”
