Schalke midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng could be moving to Major League Soccer at the end of the season, La Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested.
The Miners are desperate to offload the Ghana international one year before his €8m-per-year deal is set to expire, as they do not believe his status at the club warrants such a hefty salary any more.
And while an unnamed Chinese club have already submitted an offer for Boateng, the experienced midfielder also has an opportunity to move to the United States.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, New York Red Bulls are closely monitoring the situation and they seem ready to offer the 28-year-old a lucrative contract.
Boateng is believed to be keen on moving to the United States since his wife hopes to pursue an acting career in Hollywood.
The former AC Milan star has largely struggled to prove his worth this term, making just 16 Bundesliga appearances and failing to score a single goal.
