Boateng reveals talks with Mourinho

As reported by Bild, Jerome Boateng has revealed that he held exclusive talks with Jose Mourinho over a potential move to Manchester United during the summer. Boateng stated that he never wanted to leave Bayern but was interested in the possibility of a new challenge, with both United and Paris Saint-Germain showcasing their interest in the 30 year old.

Boateng rang Mourinho, the manager at Old Trafford, on the phone in order to explain his decision behind leaving. Some reports suggested that Boateng was considering a move away in order to maximise his chances of winning the UEFA Champions League, but many fans don’t believe that.

Either way, he’s still a big part of the squad with Bayern and despite his uneven performances with Germany at the World Cup, he should still be considered one of the best defenders not only in Europe, but also in world football as a whole.
