German media outlet Bild has learned that Schalke plan to cash in on star midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng at the earliest opportunity.
The Miners have ambitious plans ahead of the summer transfer window as they have been linked with moves for Sami Khedira, Max Kruse and Vieirinha.
However, they first need to offload one or two of their high earners and it appears that Kevin-Prince Boateng will be the first high-profile player to leave.
Earning around €8 million per single season, the Ghanaian is the club’s highest paid footballer, but his latest performances have been pretty disappointing.
And with Boateng’s contract due to expire in June 2016, Schalke have told his agents to start searching for a new club for their client.
The 27-year-old bagged six Bundesliga goals in his first season since joining from AC Milan, but he has largely struggled for form this term, having failed to find the net in 13 league outings.
