Dutch heavyweights Ajax kicked off the Champions League season in style by recording a comprehensive 3-0 victory over AEK Athens.
It could be argued that Ajax footballers were inspired by emotional scenes from before the game when Bob Marley’s son – Ky-Mani Marley and not Damien – sang his father’s famous song “Three Little Birds” together with Ajax supporters.
This particular song has been the anthem of Ajax for quite some time but there an extra significance behind it when a direct descendent of the reggae legend sings it on a Champions League night.
