Argentine heavyweights Boca Juniors are said to have reached an agreement with Sao Paolo over the winter transfer of defender Julio Buffarini.
The 29-year-old right-back is set to become Boca Juniors’ first January signing as two clubs agree a deal worth $1.5 million.
Argentine sports channel TyC Sports claims Boca Juniors will acquire 80% of Buffarini’s contract with the player expected to put pen to paper on a three-year contract.
Julio Buffarini started his professional career at Talleres in 2006 before moving to Atletico Tucuman four years later. He also represented Ferro Carril Oeste and San Lorenzo before moving to Brazilian powerhouse Sao Paolo.
Buffarini made 17 appearances for Sao Paolo in Serie A and Campeonato Paulista this season.
Apart from Buffarini, Boca Juniors have been linked with a number of players ahead of the January transfer market, most notably the Trabzonspor left-back Emmanuel Mas.
