Boca Juniors disappointing season start didn’t improve in their fifth fixture, as the Buenos Aires outfit crashed to a 2-3 defeat by Godoy Cruz.

Godoy went ahead after seven minutes at La Bombonera stadium, with Matias Jara beating the opposing keeper for 0-1.

Boca then turned things around through Sebastian Salomon (own goal in the 36th minute) and Gary Medel (56th), but it wasn’t enough for the home side as Godoy again turned things in their favor with a penalty goal from Federico Higuain in the 78th minute, followed by a winner from Cristian Chaves in the 90th.

Estudiantes and Rosario Central share the lead after five games. Estudiantes beat Huracan 1-4 on Saturday, to close the gap with Rosario who drew 0-0 with Banfield.
