Boca Juniors hint at Gattuso move

Argentine giants Boca Juniors have admitted their interest in AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso.

The Italian midfielder has confirmed he will leave the Rossoneri when his contract expires at the end of the season and he is now searching for a new club.

Just few days after he rejected a new contract offer from Milan, Gattuso revealed his desire to join former club Rangers, but the move could be scuppered by Gers’ financial problems.

Boca Juniors, one of world’s mist popular clubs, have now expressed their interest in signing the veteran midfielder.

“Gattuso is a player we really like and the doors to our squad are always open for a player as prestigious as he is,” Boca sporting director Pablo Budna told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’m presently in Italy where I have the chance to form relationships with Italian clubs. Why would we not be interested in Gattuso?”

The Argentine giants are slowly returning to old glory days and after winning the Apertura championship, they now sit two points behind Newell’s in Clausura.

Los Xeneizes are also on the verge of qualifying for Copa Libertadores semi-finals following the 1-0 win over Fluminense in the first leg.
