(GSM) – Boca Juniors dropped to 17th place in the Clausura on Sunday as Carlos Luna’s hat-trick gave Tigre a 3-0 victory. Meanwhile, River Plate defeated Huracán 2-0 ahead of next week’s Superclásico.

Luna jumped out on Boca in the 10th minute when he put sixth-placed Tigre in front of the struggling traditional giants, who have just one win in the first nine games of the tournament.

It got worse for Boca just before half-time when Luna doubled the advantage for Tigre.

He completed his hat-trick on 77 minutes and doubled his tournament goal total with three on the day to send Boca reeling back to the Bombonera.

River Plate, though, are up to 11th place after their victory over Huracán.

An own goal by Huracán defender Ezequiel Filippeto gifted River the lead inside the second minute and seemed to take the life out of the visitors for much of the game.

River, though, were made to work for it before finally extended the lead with 15 minutes to play through Gustavo Canales.

River now travel to the Bombonera next Sunday for the always-anticipated matchup against Boca Juniors.
