The 25th matchday of the 2008/09 season starts with a “relegation final” between Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfL Bochum. Borussia are 16th and would have to play two relegation matches against the third-placed team from the 2. Bundesliga if the season would be over now, Bochum are ahead of them only on goal difference.
Bochum’s wins may not have been as spectacular as Borussia’s recent victories over Hamburger SV (4-1) and 1. FC Köln (4-2), but Christoph Dabrowski insists that something has changed. “We closed ranks in the training camp and we could feel that we have a new team spirit. Everyone shoulders more responsibility for the team now”, the midfielder reveals.
