Competition: FAI
Market: Bohemians win
Odds: 15/4 @ Bet 365
Looking to book their spot in the final of this years FAI, Bohemians will travel to Turner’s Cross on Monday night to face Cork City.
Starting with John Caulfield’s Cork City side, after enduring a difficult campaign in the Irish Premier Division this year, the hosts had to watch Dundalk relinquish their league crown. Coming off the back of a lackluster showing in their 0-0 draw with Shamrock last week, aside from their 7-0 win over lower league Longford in the last round of the Cup, they have failed to win any of their other five outings. More worrying for the hosts, it will be their recent record against Bohemians that will be causing Caulfield the biggest concerns. Managing to come away with a 1-1 draw with the visitors in the quarterfinals, they also shipped four in the league fixture last month.
As for the visitors, while they could only slump to a sixth-place finish in the Irish Premier Division, Bohemians enjoyed a very eye-catching end to the year. Although they could only end the campaign with a 3-1 loss against Waterford last weekend, they were unbeaten in their previous 10 matches in all competitions. Marching on a nine-match winning run between July and September, one man to watch for Bohemians will be forward Dinny Corocan. Scoring in the first leg last month, the 29-year-old now has three in his last two.
