Competition: Irish Premier Division
Market: Bohemians win
Odds: 5/4 @ 888sport
After backing them last week, Bohemians will be looking to extend on their recent purple patch when they welcome St. Patrick’s Athletic to Dalymount Park on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, picking up what was a much-deserved 1-0 win away at Finn Harps last week, Bohemians have really continued to impress either side of football’s enforced break. Still keeping themselves in the title picture and still within striking distance of fellow high-flyers Shamrock, Keith Long’s men have won their last four Premier Division contests on the bounce and have collected a stunning 18 points over just their last seven top-flight appearances. Likely to still be boosted by what was a famous performance in their shock 2-1 victory at home against defending champions Dundalk earlier in the month, Saturday’s hosts also have a real reputation for their recent displays on home soil. Winning each of their last three straight appearances at Dalymount Park, there is no doubt that Bohemians should be looking to make another statement this weekend.
As for the visitors, while St. Patrick’s might have managed to land a 0-0 stalemate against league leaders Shamrock last time out, the Reds have drastically struggled to find their feet since returning from football’s enforced break. Managing to collect just a single win over any of their last five Premier Division appearances, including a shock 2-0 defeat against Derry City earlier in the month, it should also be noted that St. Patrick’s have failed to win any of their last three contests on the road. In for what should be another tough test this weekend, St. Patrick’s should also be concerned by their extremely worrying record against Saturday’s hosts, particularly on their travels. Hit with a 3-0 drumming the last time they made the trip to Dalymount Park, Stephen O’Donnell’s side have collected just a single point over their last four trips to Dublin.
Bet: Bohemians 5/4 to beat St. Patrick’s Athletic in Saturday’s Irish Premier Division matchup @ 888sport
