Ajax full-back Nicolai Boilesen has been ruled out of the Eredivisie match against NEC on Sunday.
The 20-year-old has struggled with a hamstring injury for most of the season, but made his first appearance since September for the Amsterdam giants in the Europa League match against Manchester United on Thursday when he replaced Dico Koppers in the second half.
Boilesen has suffered several setbacks with his injury over the course of the season, and Ajax coach Frank de Boer has revealed that the youngster faces another spell on the sidelines, but would not reveal how long the Denmark international’s prognosis.
“He has a problem with his hamstring again,” he told De Telegraaf.
“Only this time it is in another place. We have to be very careful with him.”
Boilesen has played four league games for the Eredivisie champions this season and has made two appearances for Denmark.
