Everton’s new project under Marco Silva and Marcel Brands means that many players signed in the last few years are now being offloaded, as the club wants to go in a new direction and one of those players is Yannick Bolasie. He left the Toffees on a season-long loan to Sporting Lisbon.
The DR Congo international has featured in just 32 matches during his time at Everton, whilst also going out on loans to Aston Villa and Anderlecht. His time at the club has been far from successful and Everton looked how to offload him before the transfer window ends in the rest of Europe. Sporting Lisbon came knocking and now Bolasie will spend a season in Portugal.
He is 30 years old and it was obvious that Everton do not need him, as the past three years have not been easy for him. In Lisbon he might get a new opportunity to prove himself.
