Serie A strugglers Bologna have been rocked by a further two-point deduction for failing to pay their players’ wages.
The punishment, handed down by the Serie A disciplinary committee, relates to missed payments from July to September.
It is the second time this season that Bologna has had points docked for failing to pay wages, having also lost a point in December for missed payments in May and June.
The latest punishment sees Bologna fall from 10th to 15th on the table with 22 points, four clear of the relegation zone.
Making matters worse, Alberto Malesani’s men face tough games against Inter Milan, Lazio, Roma and Udinese in their next four league matches
The disciplinary committee also suspended club president Sergio Porcedda for six months and chief executive Silvino Marras for two months and 20 days.
