Aston Villa are reportedly one of the many English teams that are interested in England and Tottenham keeper Paul Robinson.
Juande Ramos has shown little confidence in Robinson, and rumours of French keeper Gregory Coupet moving to White Hart Lane have done little to dispel the view.
Martin O’Neill is rumoured to be favouring Robinson now that his bid for Carson may be over after Liverpool rated the player too high for the clubs liking.
Robinson lost his place both in Tottenham’s first team and the England starting line-up halfway through the season, however he eventually fought back for his place in the Tottenham squad, and won his first cap under Capello’s reign against France earlier this year.
Robinson is adamant that his future lies at White Hart Lane, however if the arrival of Coupet comes true, Villa Park may seem an ideal escape route to first team football.
Bolton are said to make a £5m offer for the keeper this week.
