Martin Petrov made a quick impact in his Bolton debut Wednesday, scoring one goal and setting up another as the English Premier League club beat the Charlotte Eagles 3-0.

Gary Cahill and Johan Elmander also scored as Bolton launched a three-game tour of North America.

Former Manchester City midfielder Petrov sent a short corner kick to the near post which Cahill headed into the net in the eighth minute.

Elmander scored in the 50th minute and Petrov made it 3-0 with a hard shot in the 80th.

Bolton are making the pre-season trip without World Cup players Stuart Holden, Danny Shittu and Lee Chung Yong.
