Bolton have informed interested clubs that they will have to pay £17 million if they want to sign Gary Cahill.
The England international has a release clause in his contract worth £17 million according to Sun and the Trotters will only let Cahill go if a club meet that figure.
Cahill has earned rave reviews for his performances at Reebok Stadium this season, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City expressing interest in his services.
Arsene Wenger is desperately looking for a centre-back to patch up his shaky defence and he sees the Bolton defender as the perfect fit for Gunners’ back line.
Roberto Mancini is also keen on Cahill as he looks to sign another defender to cope with Kolo Toure’s suspension.
Bolton chiefs may be forced to sell their most prized asset in order to balance the books, but that doesn’t mean he will come cheap.
