Bolton are set to make a move for Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis for a fee in the region of £2 million according to website goal.com.
Davis’ contract is set to run out in the summer and Pompey are set to cash-in for the midfielder whilst they have the chance.
Bolton boss Gary Megson is looking for a replacement in the midfielder after losing star midfielder and former captain Kevin Nolan to Newcastle recently.
Tony Adams is said to be keen to keep Davis after his depature would weaken Portsmouth’s squad further as they continue to search for new players before the transfer window closes, but the move may make more business sense as the £2 million could be used to strengthen the squad further, rather than risk losing the midfielder in the summer for nothing.
Davis has made nearly 100 appareneces since joining Portsmouth from Tottenham in 2006. The 29-year-old made a name for himself at Fulham where he became a regular in the England under-21 squad before a call-up to the full England squad, though Davis was not brought on.
