Zambia are heading for a showdown with Dario Bonetti over his recent dismissal as the southern African country’s coach.
Bonetti said the Zambia FA (FAZ) breached the terms of his contract and he deserves to be compensated and will take the matter to FIFA as a last resort.
“It has not been possible to meet FAZ and it has led to this,” the Italian told MTNFootball.
“In this case we did all the normal procedure and the first thing was to try to get agreement here, but no one answered our lawyers.”
“And from Monday we start the process with FIFA our records and everything,” he added.
Bonetti was sacked last week despite taking Zambia to the 2012 African Cup of Nations finals.
He said he never agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent, as announced by the Zambian FA.
“I don’t like the way everything has happened in the last 15 days. We must talk about what is right in the contract and the contract says I am binding until July 15, 2012,” Bonetti stated.
