According to Sky Sports, Bordeaux have begun talks with Thierry Henry’s representatives over him possibly becoming the club’s new manager. Gus Poyet was recently suspended following a bust-up with the club, in which he called them a disgrace. As a direct result it seems as if they’re already looking for his replacement, with legendary striker Henry being at the top of their list.
The former Arsenal man has been busy in the headlines over the last few months, from helping Belgium reach the semi-finals of the World Cup as their assistant manager to being heavily linked with a switch to Aston Villa.
Henry’s former boss Arsene Wenger confirmed recently that Thierry is indeed interested in the job, as he aims to break his way into management. The club are coming off the back of two consecutive league losses, although they do have a Europa League playoff to contend with against Gent with the first leg taking place on Thursday.
