Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud wants to bring out-of-favour Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh back to the club.

Chamakh joined the Gunners last summer with immediate effect, but the Moroccan is yet to start a game under Arsene Wenger this season thanks to Robin van Persie’s strong form.

His former club president hopes to entice the misfiring attacker to Bordeaux, where he made 230 appearances, scoring 56 goals.

However, Triaud said he wasfinding it hard to even get into preliminary talks about a possible transfer underway.

He told French radio station Gold FM: “For the last two months, I have to left at least four or five messages to ask if Marouane Chamakh is available.”

“I also left messages on the mobile of Arsene Wenger some time ago and I have not had an answer.”
