French giants Bordeaux have confirmed they are negotiating with Lazio over the sale of defender Michael Ciani.
The Biancocelesti are eager to sign another central-defender before the transfer window closes and they have been linked with a number of players over the last few weeks.
Sky Italia announced yesterday that Lazio have reached an agreement over the transfer of Michael Ciani from Bordeaux, but les Girondins have moved to deny such claims.
Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud did, however, confirm the talks are taking place between the two clubs.
“We have been talking to Lazio, but at the moment we are fully focused on Sunday’s match in Paris,” Triaud confessed to L’Equipe.
Les Girondins travel to Parc des Princes on Sunday hoping to record the third straight Ligue 1 victory.
Michael Ciani is likely to keep his place in the starting line-up despite interest from Lazio.
The 28-year-old centre-back has spent last three seasons at Bordeaux, during which time he scored 6 goals in 92 Ligue 1 appearances for les Girondins.
