Bordeaux‘s Malcom de Oliveira has lately often been linked with leaving the French club, with Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur mostly mentioned as the potential destinations. Now, Nicolas de Tavernost, the club’s president, has all but confirmed the player would be sold this summer, according to Sky Sports.
De Tavernost said there is “a major player from Brazil” who wants to leave the club, and confirmed the club will allow him to do so as he believes it is the best interest of everyone involved. He added that it was the reason behind signing the player in the first place – so he could be sold at the right moment. It remains unknown whether a deal with a buyer club has been agreed or a bidding war is about occur.
Malcom, who can play as an attacking midfielder or a winger, has so far played 90 times for Bordeaux and scored 20 goals, and he’s likely to be a valuable addition to any club that may end up getting him on their pay-role.
