Bordeaux stopper talks up England switch

Bordeaux defender Lamine Sane has said in no uncertain terms that he hopes to continue his career in English Premier League.

The 27-year-old is reportedly on West Ham radar, with the Hammers expected to step up their interest if Winston Reid leaves the club in the summer.

Sane has suggested that he is happy to remain with les Girondins, but also revealed that English Premier League is his favourite destination, citing Liverpool as the club he supports.

“Honestly, I feel very good at Bordeaux, for the moment,” Sane told beIN Sports. “It is true that I have always been drawn to England.

“As for a club: Liverpool. I have always said Liverpool, since my first ever interview. It is a club that I really like.”

Lamine Sane played for minnows Agde and US Lormont at the beginning of his professional career before earning a professional contract with Bordeaux in 2009.

The centre-back quickly developed into an important player at Stade Chaban-Delmas and went on to make 167 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 6 goals.

Sane, who can also operate as a right-back or holding midfielder, has a contract until June 2017 with les Girondins, but could be leaving Bordeaux at the end of the season.
