Fabio Borini’s agent has said that the forward made a mistake by joining Liverpool last summer, and instead should have remained at Roma for another season, the Daily Star understands.
The 22 year old, who was moved on following Victor Moses arrival at Anfield, made his Sunderland debut as a substitute in their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend after joining up with Paolo Di Canio’s side on a season long loan on transfer deadline day.
He made just five Premier League starts during his time on Merseyside, though he spent two months towards the end of last season side-lined with a shoulder injury.
The one time Italy international had the best spell of his career whilst in Serie A, scoring eleven goals in twenty-six appearances during his time in Rome.
His representative Marco De Marchi has told and Italian radio station Mana Mana that Borini would have excelled under coach Zdenek Zeman last season.
