Premier League sides Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace are locked in the battle for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain youngster Yakou Meite.
The 20-year-old has reached the end of his contract and it appears he has decided to leave Parc des Princes for greener pastures.
According to L’Equipe, English Premier League will probably be his next destination seeing as how both Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace are ready to offer him a contract.
It remains to be seen whether more sides will join the chase for the forward’s signature, who desperately needs some first team experience.
While showing a great deal of promise playing for the reserves, Meite has only made one brief appearance for the senior side.
However, the striker also impressed in UEFA Youth League, making 23 appearances and scoring 8 goals in the process.
Even though he was born in France, Meite represented Ivory Coast at the World Youth Festival in Toulon.
