Middlesbrough striker Tuncay Sanli is set to miss the next six weeks of the Premier League after sustaining a knee injury while on international duty last week.
The 26-year-old suffered a medical ligament tear during Turkey's World Cup qualifying match against Belgium and is now expected to be sidelined until the next month.
But Boro boss Gareth Southgate is confident his side have enough depth up front to cope without the former Fenerbahce forward.
“It is a real shame for Tuncay,” ex-England international Southgate told the club's official website.
“However, we have a lot of strength in that area and his absence will provide opportunities for other lads in the squad.”
Egypt international Mido partnered record signing Afonso Alves in attack — and scored his fourth goal of the season — in Saturday's 2-1 Premier League defeat at Portsmouth.
