German footballer Tim Borowski returns to Werder Bremen after just one year at Bayern Munich.
Borowski joined Bayern as a free agent in 2008 and played 27 games for the Bavarians, scoring five times. He rarely formed part of the starting line-up however, and this was not going to change under new manager Louis van Gaal.
“With Tim, we are getting a very experienced player who really fits into our young team,” Werder manager Klaus Allofs said on the club’s official website.
“We found a solution satisfactory for both sides. We are really happy that this transfer worked. We have already celebrated success with ‘Boro’. he knows the structures in Bremen and I think that he is also happy about joining us.”
The 29-year-old midfielder first joined Werder in 2000, and soon became one of the key pillars at ‘die Schwaben’.
