Competition: Bundesliga

Market: Borussia Dortmund to beat Werder Bremen

Odds: 19/20 @ Bet365

After a fairly mixed year, Borussia Dortmund will look to finish their season on a high when they travel to the Weser-Stadion on Sunday afternoon to face Werder Bremen.

For Florian Kohfeldt’s Werder Bremen side, although a late push after the Christmas break could have seen the River Islanders challenge for the Europa League positions, Bremen are coming off the back of a 2-0 loss away at Stuttgart and have now failed to win any of their last three. Ahead of Dortmund’s visit, Bremen will know that they must improve on their defensive record. The River Islanders have now failed to register a single clean sheet in their last 12 attempts, a run stemming back to the start of January.

With it confirmed that Dortmund head coach Peter Stöger will be stepping down at the end of the season when his contract expires, Dortmund are determined to finish their season on a high-note and secure Champions League football once again. After slumping to a disappointing 2-0 away defeat to high-flying Schalke, Dortmund are coming off the back of a 4-0 hammering of top four hopefuls Bayer Leverkusen last weekend and Stoger’s side were back to their best. It will be their record on the road that they will be desperate to improve on though, Dortmund have not won any of their last five away from the Westfalenstadion
