Desperate to make a return to winning ways on Friday night, Borussia Dortmund will host relegation scrappers Paderborn at Signal Iduna Park.

Starting with the hosts, looking to bounce back from their hammering against Bayern Munich prior to the international break, there is no doubt that Dortmund will be glad to make a return to Signal Iduna Park. Despite opening the weekend sat down in sixth, Lucien Favre’s men are sat in pole position to secure a spot in the knockout stage of this year’s Champions League and they have now won three of their last four matches across all competitions. While they may have shipped four against the defending champions earlier in the month, the Yellow and Black’s have recorded three clean sheets in their last four Bundesliga appearances, including back-to-back clean sheets in rural Germany.

As for the visitors, still sat three points adrift at the foot of the table and in the midst of a three-match losing run, it is no surprise that Paperborn are seen to be a universal favorite for the drop this season. Recording just a single Bundesliga victory this year, it will undoubtedly be their continued issues in the final third giving Head Coach Steffen Baumgart the biggest headache. Failing to record a single strike in any of their previous three defeats, Friday’s guests have also failed to find the net in over 300 minutes of action on the road. With a real gulf in class between the two sides, Dortmund should see Friday as a golden chance to return to winning ways.
