Borussia Dortmund agree deal for Leonardo Balerdi

Borussia Dortmund are said to have agreed on a deal with Boca Juniors over the transfer of central defender Leonardo Balerdi.

The 19-year-old Argentine defender has quickly emerged as one of the hottest South American prospects with BVB making all steps required to secure his services ahead of any possible competition.

German media outlet Sport Bild reports that Bundesliga champions and Copa Libertadores finalists shook hands on a €16 million deal with the Argentine player set to sign a four-year contract which would keep him at Signal Iduna Park until 2023.

Balerdi is expected to arrive in Dortmund at the beginning of next week when he will undergo his medical and put pen to paper on a deal with the Bundesliga leaders.

Borussia Dortmund sit six points clear off Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table after 17 rounds and return to action on 19^th January with a trip to RB Leipzig.
