Borussia Dortmund agree deal for Maximilian Philipp

German daily newspaper Bild has learned that Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal to sign Maximilian Philipp from Freiburg.

Just hours after it was confirmed that Peter Bosz had been appointed new head coach, the Millionaires secured the signing of the Germany Under-21 international.

Philipp left the national team camp in Poland to sign a contract with Borussia Dortmund after the two clubs had agreed a €20 million transfer fee.

The talented winger is expected to deputise for star player Marco Reus, who will miss around four months of action through injury.

Philipp has been performing at a high level over the last couple of years, first helping Freiburg return to the elite division before netting 9 goals in the 2016/17 Bundesliga campaign.

The talented footballer is set to represent Germany at the Under-21 European Championship in Poland.
