Borussia Dortmund are set to launch an assault on Stuttgart forward Julian Schieber, according to Bild.
The Bundesliga champions are searching for a replacement for striker Lucas Barrios, who has agreed a move to Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.
According to Bild, BVB have signaled their attention to sign Stuttgart striker Julian Schieber.
The 23-year-old, who has just over a year left on his contract at Mercedes-Benz Arena, has rejected a new contract offer from the Swabians, adding fuel to speculations linking him with a move to Borussia Dortmund.
Stuttgart chiefs are surprised by the player’s decision, but they are aware that cashing in on the forward this summer would be the best possible solution and have, therefore, slapped a €9 million price tag.
Borussia are only willing to bid up to the €6 million mark, but the odds are the two clubs will reach an agreement before the transfer window opens in the summer.
Schieber hasn’t had the best of seasons this term, having scored just 3 goals in 18 Bundesliga appearances.
