According to a recent report from Sport Bild, German giants Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Niklas Stark. The 23 year old defender is currently with Hertha Berlin, having made the move over from FC Nurnberg back in 2015. He is considered to be one of the best young defenders in European football, having also established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the Germany U21s.
Dortmund, who are currently locked in the title race with Bayern Munich, are hoping that a fee of around €25 million could be enough to lure him away from Hertha. It’s already been well documented that they want to bring Julian Brandt to the club, but the same is now true for Stark.
Some fans will be suggesting that the club should instead be focusing all of their attention on the title race as opposed to what they’ll be doing in a few months time.
