Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi has been an instant hit with the Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, scoring three goals in his first two competitive outings for the German club.
The 24-year-old forward joined Dortmund as a direct replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who left for Arsenal during winter and he made quite an impression in little time he spent with the Black and Yellows.
Dortmund CEO hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed the Bundesliga side wanted to get Batshuayi on a permanent deal from Chelsea but Roman Abramovich stopped the deal. Belgian ended up joining Dortmund on a six-month loan deal but Dortmund will attempt to seal the deal for Batshuayi next summer.
Batshuayi left Stamford Bridge despite scoring a brace in his last game for Blues – against Newcastle – and despite his overall positive records considering the limited time he was rewarded by Antonio Conte.
Former Arsenal front man Olivier Giroud moved to Chelsea as Michy Batshuayi’s replacement and Dortmund will most certainly hope Blues will change their stance on the availability of Belgium international.
