Borussia Dortmund to hijack Kevin Gameiro move to Valencia

Atletico Madrid forward Kevin Gameiro could be leaving for Germany this summer.

The Frenchman was believed to have given the nod to Valencia but the proposed €14 million move to Los Che could be scrapped as Borussia Dortmund launched a last-ditch attempt to sign the Frenchman.

Gameiro agreed a three-year contract with Valencia with a significant pay cut several weeks ago and was waiting for a move to be finalised but there’s since then been a U-turn which could see him join Dortmund instead.

Spanish news outlet Marca states that Bundesliga powerhouse tabled a €23 million bid which is a significant upgrade to Valencia’s offer. Atletico Madrid have yet to reach the final decision and are unlikely to sanction Gameiro’s move until they have secured a replacement for the Frenchman.

The likes of Nikola Kalinic, Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi are being discussed in the media.
