Mats Hummels obviously likes only two clubs in Germany. And those two happen to hate each other. The Bayern Munich centre-back will be making a shock return to Signal Iduna Park this summer, as Bavarian giant confirmed the player will be joining Borussia Dortmund once again.
Hummels left Dortmund for Bayern in 2016 having spent eight years at the club and establishing himself as one of the best centre-backs in world football. He was successful in Munich, winning three consecutive Bundesliga titles, but will now return to Dortmund in a deal worth a reported €38 million.
Dortmund therefore continue returning their former stars to the team, as something similar already happened with Nuri Sahin, Mario Gotze and Shinji Kagawa. Dortmund will add Hummels to their ever-growing list of incoming transfers this summer, having already brought in Julian Brandt, Thorgan Hazard and Nico Schulz. With Hummels in the team, Dortmund are sending a message they are ready for another fight for the Bundesliga crown.
