Borussia Dortmund wanted to sign Liam Delap from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. It has been reported that the German club made a bid of £15 million for the teenager towards the back-end of the window, but Premier League champions City turned it down.
Delap signed a new long-term contract on August 20 and is rated very highly by defending Premier League champions City. Dortmund signed Jadon Sancho from the Citizens when the England international winger, now at Manchester United, was 17 and were hoping to lure the 18-year-old forward.
However, City have high hopes for Delap and refused Dortmund’s contract. The England Under-18 international has played once in the Premier League for Pep Guardiola’s side.
