Borussia Dortmund scored twice to level the aggregate score at Udinese, but the Italians remained calm in the following penalty shoot-out.
Tamas Hajnal broke the deadlock for the German guests after 45 minutes, giving the yellow-blacks some hope for the second half.
Udinese thought to have defended their narrow aggregate lead but the home crowd got silenced by a second goal from Hajnal on 90 minutes.
The Hungarian’s efforts weren’t enough though. No more goals were scored in extra time and Udinese were the better side in the penalty shoot-out, winning 4-3.
