Bundesliga high flyers Borussia M’gladbach are showing interest in Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard, according to German newspaper Bild.
The talented footballer was widely expected to be farmed out on loan during the summer transfer window and he was on the verge of joining Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.
However, fearing FIFA sanctions with regards to transfers of under-age players, Real Madrid puled the plug on the deal and the Norwegian remained at Santiago Bernabeu.
The latest reports claim that Borussia M’gladbach hope to take advantage of the situation and they are likely to make their interest concrete in the January transfer window.
Die Fohlen are short of options in the middle of the park and they will probably make a move on Odegaard if they remain in European competitions.
The youngster will turn 18 in December, meaning there will be no obstacles to him joining Borussia M’gladbach in the January transfer window.
