Two sides that saw a summer of ins and outs, both Nottingham Forest and Brentford are looking to make a push for the playoffs this season. On Saturday, Aitor Karanka’s Reds will travel to Griffin Park looking to build after their impressive performance in midweek.
Starting with Dean Smith’s Brentford side, after a season of ins and outs, many have The Bees tipped for a Top Six push. Coming off the back of beating Cheltenham 1-0 in the League Cup, the hosts have also won all of their matches on home soil so far. With the Championship’s leading goalscorer Neal Maupay serving a three-match ban, Smith’s side will be looking for young Ollie Watkins to carry on his impressive start to the season. The 22-year-old has three goals already and has scored at both appearances at Griffin Park this year.
As for Aitor Karanka’s Nottingham Forest side, breaking the bank this summer, their is a real air of optimism around the City Ground. Putting on an eye-catching display against Premier League outfit Newcastle in midweek, The Reds picked up an impressive 3-1 win and have proven to be a tough team to break down. While they have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four outings, Forest have been in fine goalscoring form. Now without a loss in any matchup since July, the visitors have now scored seven in their last three.
