Competition: Serie A
Market: Both teams to score
Odds: 10/11 @ Bet 365
Two sides gaining a reputation for their high scoring encounters, Gennaro Gattuso’s AC Milan side will host Genoa at the San Siro on Wednesday.
Starting with Gattuso’s side, after picking up a 3-2 win over Sampdoria to end their back to back defeats against Real Betis and bitter rivals Inter Milan, AC have once again enjoyed a bright start to the season. While their recent defensive issues will be a concern for the former Italy midfielder, a win on Wednesday would see them leapfrog Inter in the Serie A table. With both teams now scoring in 10 of their last 11 outings, one man to watch will be Juventus loanee Gonzalo Higuain. Since signing on a one-year deal, the Argentinian forward now has seven across all competitions.
As for the visitors, while Genoa may have failed to win any of their last three, Ivan Jurić’s side have gained plenty of plaudits this season. Becoming the first team to take points off of defending champions Juventus earlier in the month, a win for the visitors on Wednesday would see them leapfrog AC in the race for European football. One man who has epitomized Genoa’s impressive start is Serie A leading goalscorer Krzysztof Piatek. The 23-year-old sits two goals clear at the top of the charts and also has nine in his last 10 for club and country.
