Competition: Premier League
Market: Both teams to score
Odds: 4/6 @ Bet 365
Making their first Premier League appearance at Villa Park since May 2016, Aston Villa will welcome Bournemouth to the Midlands on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Villa may have thrown away their 1-0 half-time lead against Spurs last weekend, Dean Smith has plenty of positives to take away from their trip to North London. One of those positives will be the stellar start to the season of midfielder and Scotland international, John McGuinn. Finding the net against Tottenham last time out, the former Hibs man has three in his last three and also signed a new long-term deal at Villa Park on Deadline Day. Spending big over the summer and also winning seven of their last eight matches at Villa Park at the end of last season, the Villans will be optimistic of picking up their first top-flight win this weekend.
As for the visitors, after seeing Sheffield United pinch an 88th-minute equalizer at the Vitality last weekend, Eddie Howe will be desperate for his side to bounce back on Saturday. Desperate to refind the form that helped them secure a 3-0 win over Lyon in their final pre-season appearance, fans on the South Coast will know that the Cherries must improve on their recent showings on the road if they’re to avoid falling into a relegation scrap. Bournemouth managed to record just a pair of victories in their final 14 top-flight away matchups. With seven of the last eight combined matches between the two sides, we’re backing a similar result this weekend.
