Both teams to score at Barnsley vs Bournemouth 4/5 for Friday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

In a contest that could prove to be another high-scoring showdown for the Cherries, Barnsley vs Bournemouth will take place at Oakwell on Friday evening.

Starting with the hosts, while Barnsley would have been disappointed to have ended November with back-to-back defeats at the hands of Blackburn and Brentford, they did manage to bounce back in impressive fashion earlier in the week. Managing to pick up a 2-1 win against Birmingham on their trip to St. Andrew’s, the Reds have impressed many after just about hanging onto their Championship status over the summer. Now under the guidance of former LASK boss Valérien Ismaël, the Tykes are within striking distance of breaking into the top-half of the table and they have gained a reputation for their rugged displays on home soil. Aside from their close-fought defeat at the hands of promotion chasers Brentford, Barnsley have managed to collect nine points over their last four Championship contests at Oakwell.

As for the visitors, although Bournemouth might have impressed either side of the November international break, the Cherries have shown some continued inconsistencies. Sacrificing their Premier League status over the summer and partying ways with Eddie Howe, the South Coast outfit were hit with a shock 3-2 defeat at the hands of Preston on home soil in midweek. Also having to settle for a dramatic 2-2 draw away at Rotherham last weekend, new boss Jason Tindall will be desperate for his side to find some stability at the back. While Junior Stanislas might have managed to extend on his purple patch by bagging his fourth goal in his last three appearances earlier in the week, Bournemouth have shipped five goals in their back-to-back contests and have just a single clean sheet to their name since October 28th.
