Both teams to score at Barnsley vs Bristol City 3/5 for Friday’s Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 3/5 @ Bet 365

Handed the chance to climb into the automatic positions, Bristol City will make the trip to rock-bottom Barnsley on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, suffering a 2-1 loss away at fellow relegation contenders Huddersfield over the weekend, it has been a very bleak return to the Championship for Barnsley. While the Reds may have managed to find the net in each of their last six matchups and enjoying a stable run in the final third, fans around Oakwell will be most concerned by their side’s continued problems at the back. Already shipping a staggering 27 goals this season, the worst tally of any side in the second-tier, Adam Murray’s men still sit at the foot of the table and have not recorded a single victory in any competition since the opening weekend, a 14-match winless run.

As for the visitors, while they may not have been at their best on Sunday, Bristol City managed to snatch a dramatic late 2-2 draw against Wigan and still have promotion in their sights. Handed the chance to climb as high as second and join West Brom in the automatic positions, Lee Johnson will be calling on his men to make some much-needed improvements on the road. Including a 3-0 hammering away at Luton in their last matchup away from Ashton Gate, the Robbins have failed to win any of their last three Championship matches on their travels. In a match that should prove to be a lively encounter, we’re backing another high-scoring fixture at Oakwell on Friday night.
