Two sides who find themselves leading the chase in the promotion hunt, Bray Wanderers will welcome Treaty to Carlisle Grounds on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Bray might have seen their FAI Cup run come to an end thanks to a drumming away at Premier Division side St Patrick’s Athletic last month, The Seagulls have bounced back in an eye-catching fashion. Knowing that victory this weekend could potentially skyrocket their way up to second in the table, Head CoachGary Cronin saw his side put in a thumping display last time out. Picking up what was a routine 3-1 win against rock-bottom Wexford on home soil, The Wanderers have now secured back-to-back First Division victories. Finding a way to build off of that 3-0 victory away at Cabinteely on July 30th, Friday’s hosts have not lost a second-tier matchup since the start of June. It’s also worth highlighting that Bray have mustered 10 points from their previous four matchups at Carlisle Grounds.

As for the visitors, while Treaty might have gained plenty of plaudits in their promotion charge this season, Tommy Barrett’s side were last seen putting in what was a nightmare display on home soil. Despite bouncing back from their FAI Cup departure at the hands of Dundalk last month with a thumping display against Athlone Town on July 30th, the Limerick-based side were hit for four last weekend. Putting in what many would bill as a season-worst display at Markets Field, Treaty were hit with a 4-1 drumming and they are a side desperately seeking an immediate boost on Friday night. However, despite their issues on home soil, Barrett’s side should be boosted by their continued display on the road. Winning each of their last four First Division away days, it should also be noted that they have bagged over 1.5 goals in each of those victories.
