Two sides who have their sights firmly set on securing a return to the Premier League, Derby will welcome Nottingham Forest to Pride Park on Monday night.
Starting with Frank Lampard’s Derby side, while many have been concerned by the Rams’ form against their fellow playoff contenders, it has been a bright start for the former England captain in his first managerial reign. Picking up a 1-0 win over Wigan last week, they are yet to be beaten in December and a third win on the bounce would see them climb as high as third. Despite suffering losses to Stoke and Aston Villa last month, Lampard will be looking for Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson to lead their charge. The 21-year-old Wales international has now scored four in his last four.
As for the visitors, tipped by many to be a leading contender in the race for a top-six finish, Nottingham Forest will know they must bounce immediately back from their shock 1-0 loss to Preston last time out. Now sat just two points adrift of the playoffs and with the chance to leapfrog Derby in the table, Aitor Karanka has his own man in form who he will be looking to carry on his recent goalscoring tally. Summer signing Lewis Grabban has already netted 15 goals for the Reds this season and has also now bagged five Championship goals in his last four appearances.
